Therapies are aimed at maintaining a healthy balance of the three humours (vali, azhal, iyyam) and nourishment of saptha dhathus namely saaram(lymph), cheneer(blood), oon(muscle), kozhuppu(fat), yenbu(bone), moolai(marrow), sukkilam(reproductive tissue). Among the external therapies, physical therapies like thokkanam, varmam and pilzhichal are useful in treating neuromuscular disorders.
